Nathan Taylor. Husband. Businessman.
Volunteer. Conservative. Proud Nevadan.
Nathan Taylor is a born and raised Nevadan. A graduate of Eldorado High School and UNLV, Nathan and his family have deep roots in this state and he is committed to seeing the continued growth and success of our community.
Service to the community came at an early age for Nathan. He first began working with Christmas in April (also known as Rebuilding Together), a non-profit organization that renovates homes for low-income, elderly, and disabled residents. Passionate about giving back, Nathan worked hard to bring community organizations, contractors, and corporate volunteers together to collaborate for the less fortunate. He was eventually selected to serve on the group’s Board of Directors.
While conducting outreach to the community, Nathan eventually developed an interest in the work of elected officials, political leaders, activists, and other influential stakeholders in Nevada. He was first hired in 1998 by State Senator Mark James to serve as his District Manager. In this role, Nathan communicated with the Senator’s constituents and helped to deliver results from the Nevada State Legislature. In 1999, Nathan helped form the Clark County Young Republicans to encourage young people to become involved in the political process. Ultimately, Nathan served as Chairman of the Clark County Young Republicans and State Chairman of the Nevada Young Republicans until 2005. His notable accomplishments heading the organizations include spearheading the formation of the Washoe County Young Republicans and receiving the bid to host the National Young Republican Convention.
Nathan has proven himself to be an effective and passionate advocate for candidates he has supported. His work as a volunteer or consultant on over 40 GOP campaigns has resulted in an 80% success rate. His greatest personal experience on the campaign trail was his work on President George W. Bush's 2000 campaign as well as his re-election campaign in 2004. Nathan also proudly worked on Governor Kenny C. Guinn’s successful 2004 re-election campaign. He had previously completed a public service internship in Governor Guinn’s Office and was instrumental in providing valuable research to the Governor’s Staff.
While attending UNLV, Nathan developed a love for the hospitality industry. Beginning as a server, he quickly rose to become a trainer and finally a restaurant manager. He was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to move to New York City where he managed two highly successful restaurants. While he enjoyed that experience, the call of his one true home was too much to resist, and he returned to the great state of Nevada 2 years later in 2008. Upon his return, Nathan went to work for the Clark County Business Licensing Department. In this role, he facilitated the highly regulated Liquor and Gaming process on behalf of small business owners. Daily, he would meet with applicants to answer questions and process their applications.
His experience in this role led Nathan to leave his job at the county and return to the private sector. In 2009 he formed Taylor Consulting Group, Inc, a land-use, zoning, licensing, and government affairs firm. Over the past decade, Nathan has helped over 1,000 small businesses obtain the licenses they needed to successfully operate. As a small business owner himself, he understands the unique needs business owners have. Nathan’s passion for his clients and attention to detail have made his firm one of the most successful consulting agencies in Southern Nevada.
